Gäste kommen: Dein Leitfaden für den besten Kaffee zuhause

Guests are coming: Your guide to the best coffee at home

“In the past, guests came because of me; now they come because of the good coffee.”

Anyone who invites guests wants to serve them the best coffee; with the ARCA X-tract and our specialty coffees, this is reliably achieved if you pay attention to a few simple things.

When guests arrive, you want to offer them the best. A beautifully set table, perhaps a freshly baked cake, a bouquet of flowers, and of course, coffee that leaves a lasting impression. We received a message from our customer Claudia: "Guests used to come because of me, now they come for the great coffee." That's exactly how it should be: everyone is happy, the coffee is delicious and fragrant, it tastes wonderful, and the atmosphere couldn't be better.

That's exactly what the ARCA X-tract is made for. It not only reliably brews delicious coffee, but it will also impress your guests. However, coffee is a natural product. To ensure it develops its full flavor, there are a few things to keep in mind.

The first step: choosing the right coffee

The foundation is always the quality of the beans and the roasting process. Whether you choose our Breakfast Blend or Sunday Bliss , or coffee from your favorite local roaster, what's most important besides quality is freshness .

  • After roasting, coffee reaches its absolute peak for about three months.

  • After that, it slowly loses its aromas, even if the best-before date is still far away.

  • Coffee is often too old by the time it arrives at the supermarket. This is partly because the raw coffee beans have sometimes been stored for a long time, and partly because the transport routes are often long.

If you want to pamper your guests, start with good quality. You can find more information on this topic in the Speciality Coffee blog.

This is how you achieve perfect preparation with the ARCA X-tract

ARCA makes it easy, yet it's worth keeping a few points in mind:

  1. Storage: It's best to keep the coffee in its original packaging. Light, refrigerators, and open cans quickly diminish its aroma.

  2. Water: Always fresh and not too hot. 92–95 °C is ideal, so let it cool briefly after boiling. Water that is too hot burns the aromas and makes the coffee bitter.

  3. Dosage: Many people use too little coffee. For 500 ml of water, we recommend 32 g of ground coffee. For 800 ml, use 50 g, and for 1 liter, use 60 g. This gives the coffee body and depth.

  4. Mixing: Pour the water in gently so that the coffee is thoroughly mixed. Being too cautious risks clumping and wasting flavor. You can also stir it if you like.

  5. Patience: Close the lid and give the coffee the time it needs. In the ARCA, it will develop evenly and gently.

The grind size plays a less important role than with other methods; X-tract gives the coffee space and time to infuse. Our coffees are available medium-fine ground or as whole beans.

Mistakes you can easily avoid

Many coffee get-togethers fail not because of the preparation, but because of the quality of the beans. Coffees on sale are often too old or roasted from inferior beans. Did you know: If unripe, green, or overripe beans are machine-picked and not sorted out, the coffee will never be of good quality. Even worse, sensitive stomachs notice this immediately. Combined with rapid and hot-air roasting, as well as other tricks, a lot of money is saved. But we don't do that sort of thing.

My advice: Less is more, but better quality. Your guests will notice, and you and your loved ones deserve it in your everyday life. Time is too precious to waste drinking inferior coffee.

Your success: Guests who gladly return.

In the end, it's not just about the taste. It's about the experience: a fragrant coffee, a slice of cake, lively conversation. Your guests feel welcome and comfortable.

With the ARCA X-tract and our specialty coffees, you have the assurance that the coffee will be a success and the good feeling of spoiling your guests with something special.

Because that's the essence: Nothing more. Better.
