What makes the X-tract filter so special—and what sets it apart from all other filters? Discover why there's no real alternative to this patented design.
Here's how to prepare your perfect coffee:
- Pour ground coffee into the filter.
- Fill with hot, but not boiling, water. (Optimal temperature is 96°C.)
- Stir and break up any lumps.
- Cover and let the flavors infuse. (At least 4 minutes, we recommend 12.)
- Important: Serve with the filter in the ARCA. This small detail makes the coffee so delicious.
There is no better coffee with rolls or cake.
"She's so cute!"
That's what most people say when they hold the ARCA for the first time. But that impression is deceptive, because the jug holds 1 liter and you can brew up to 800 ml of coffee.
800 ml: Enough for 1 to 6 cups.
Dimensions : Height 16cm; filter diameter 8cm; diameter with handle 17cm.
High quality, durable, dishwasher safe
Material: Porcelain, stainless steel filter, silicone ring
The jug is made of porcelain : we use robust hotel quality to guarantee durability in daily use.
- We designed the Porcelain Arca handle to be hollow so it doesn't get hot while remaining sturdy. It has a small hole at the bottom that occasionally lets water in, but drains easily.
- During the firing process above 800°C, the end of the handle remains unglazed, which preserves the craftsmanship of the pot.
Our patented stainless steel filter is made entirely of high-quality stainless steel and features an additional fine-mesh stainless steel sieve inside. A silicone ring securely holds the porcelain lid on the filter, preventing it from falling into your freshly brewed coffee.
With Arca X-tract, you're on the safe side. Enjoy your coffee completely worry-free, without worrying about harmful substances that might develop during brewing. Stay healthy!

Easy and quick cleaning
Cleaning the Arca X-tract is quick and easy. All parts are dishwasher safe.
To clean the filter, dispose of the coffee grounds in the organic household waste or compost and rinse them under running water from the outside to the inside. We recommend cleaning the filter in the dishwasher once a week. Alternatively, you can clean it with very hot water, a brush and detergent.

Coffee & cake under the open sky – it doesn’t get any better than this.

Only a small amount of compost remains from your coffee.

Questions & Answers
Your coffee stays hot for a really long time , even without a warmer. Thanks to the innovative filter in our Arca, the coffee stays pleasantly warm for about half an hour.
Here is a little insight into our measurements at a room temperature of 22°C:
- At the beginning the coffee has a brewing temperature of 96°C.
- After 4 minutes the coffee is ready. At a temperature of 86°C it is still very hot and the taste is still developing.
- After 10 minutes: The coffee is at a temperature of 78°C. I wait another 2-3 minutes.
- After 20 minutes the temperature is 70°C. Best for me.
Yes , absolutely. The coffee doesn't have a steeping effect and doesn't become bitter. We've learned this from our experience with coffee experts. Additionally, the filter in the coffee maker keeps your favorite beverage hotter for longer.
Give the coffee about 4 minutes to release its aromas. After a few more minutes, it will reach the ideal drinking temperature. I find that around 12 minutes is perfect for a leisurely breakfast. Perfect, right?
For tea: After the desired brewing time, carefully lift out the filter and lid. Caution : Only touch the lid, as the filter will be very hot. Then replace the lid on the Arca to keep the tea warm for as long as possible.
We put a lot of effort into the design of our jug to reduce dripping as much as possible. But honestly, we - and no one else - have yet managed to create a perfectly drip-free jug.
However, if you are not too hesitant when pouring and do not fill the jug all the way to the top, you can greatly minimize dripping.
If your filter is no longer draining properly, you should wash it with hot water. We put it in the dishwasher about once a week and select a high temperature program once a month.
Still clogged? Not only with the Arca are the essential oils are responsible for the great taste on the one hand, but can also ruin grinders or X-tract filter can become clogged. But don't worry, this can be fixed: Place the filter in an oven preheated to around 120°C for around 10 minutes. Then carefully remove it with a pair of tongs or a pot holder and immediately rinse it with cold water to remove the oils. Let the filter cool down briefly and then rinse it thoroughly again or put it in the dishwasher again. After that, it is ready for use again and as good as new!
The German Coffee Association recommends using 60g of coffee per liter of water. This also applies to preparation using the X-Tract method. As a rough measure, we use around 6g per heaped spoon at home. This means as a guideline:
- 8 spoons for a full Arca (add about 800ml water)
- 5 spoons in 1/2 l water
- 3 spoons in 300ml water (a large cup)
If your coffee is too weak and it is not due to the amount of coffee, you have probably poured the coffee too slowly . Then the water flows too slowly and the coffee is not mixed. In this case, you have to stir the coffee well.
If the coffee is too strong, simply reduce the amount of coffee powder or choose a milder, fruitier roast with a coarser grind. Experiment a little until you find your perfect setting.
